El Laberinto del Fauno (2006)
Never Forget & Never Forgive: Not Even Your Mother
The Children Are Watching Us (1944)
The film follows the anguish of the four-year-old, Prico, after his mother, Nina, leaves his father, Andrea, for her lover Roberto. Prico is sent to his aunt and then to his grandmother. Nina returns when Prico is sick and vows to give up Roberto, even though he persists in seeing her. The family situation gradually improves until they take a holiday on the Italian Riviera. (1944)
Run With The Spirit
White Mane (1953)
This film was recommended by my 7yr old nephew after he saw it in his class on a rainy day. He says he still prefers The Indian in the Cupboard (1995) because it was in real color, and therefore real. The film takes place in a French sea town but you would never know this since the film is in black and white, and seeing men mounted on horses riding by the sea shore surely makes it surreal to me. Its about wild horses.
Film by Albert Lamorisse.

Its What They Try To Find In Us
Moritz in der Litfaßsäule (1983)
While in Potsdam, Germany a friend of mine took me to the Film Museum in Potsdam to take a look at at some of Germany's film history. This museum is more of a small gallery that houses artifacts from well known films of its country, than an actual museum. Here i came across a stuffed cat behind a glass box. The puppet was used in the 1983 film Moritz in der Litfaßsäule, a film that about a boy who runs away from home after receiving bad grades and befriends a girl and a cat. I am very interested in being able to see this film. I'll hunt it down, see it and post my reaction and comments of it later.
If you've seen it, let me know what you think.
